About me...
I was originally born in the Chicago suburbs, I have lived in quite a few places since then... Chicago, Michigan, back to Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Back to Chicago, Pennsylvania, and now phew... in good old Phoenix, which has been my home for the last 16 years. I received my Bachelors of Arts with a major in Film/Video production, with an emphasis in animation special effects. In my earlier life... I was an animation cameraman/ optical printer, animation director, inker, painter and film editor. (The company I worked for won an Academy Award for Technological Achievement in Film) I worked on feature films, TV promos for Disney, commercials, documentary films and children's videos such as Gymboree and Videosmarts. After enjoying working on children's educational videos, I decided to get into education where I received my Masters in Elementary Education from ASU. I also have my middle school endorsement. I have done web designs for corporations, The Phoenix Diocese and small businesses. My wife and I have two children that attend Pope John XXIII Catholic School and have been there since its start. We have a dog, 2 cockatiel birds, and a garden. My current life as a teacher is fulfilling! and Wonderful! I enjoy teaching and seeing the students excel in curriculum and technology.
Continuing Ed... This past year (2006) I won a grant through AzTEA/Qwest for $8,000 to teach video technology through character building. I will then give a presentation with all of Pope John XXIII students work at the WOW Conference at ASU West in March. I am a member of AzTEA- (Arizona Technology in Education Alliance) and ISTE - (The International Society for Technology in Education.) I have given workshops at the MEC -(Microcomputers in Education Conference) at ASU. Teaching technology in the classroom. This summer I attended the NCEA (National Catholic Education Association) Conference and the NECC (National Education Computer Conference) in San Diego. I picked up a wealth of knowledge there and look forward to implementing what I have learned into my classroom.
